You may have heard about Paul Mason in the news before. He is the world’s heaviest man weighing at about 700 pounds. A few days ago he received gastric bypass surgery in order to set himself on the right path towards losing weight.
This is after already losing over 280 pounds. He originally did weight 980 pounds overall, and this weight loss was necessary so that he could undergo this gastric bypass procedure.
By the way, for those of you who do not know gastric bypass surgery is a type of procedure that cuts off a person’s stomach so he or she can become fuller faster. (Okay so it’s not quite this simple but this is the simplest explanation there is for this process.)
Already he has accomplished an amazing feat by losing more weight than the average man even puts on. Now he is on his way to become more fit and trim and this stomach surgery is one step towards that.
Now, does having a smaller stomach mean he is going to be on “Easy Street?” No, not at all! People who have undergone this procedure still have the tendency to gain weight if they eat too much.
They also are more easily affected by alcohol and sugar. Therefore, they often have to be on a little bit stricter of a diet.
Furthermore, they need to find a way to remain active. Exercise can make them heart healthy and tones their muscles while burning fat.
This man, Paul Mason, who is the largest in the world right now already, is writing his story about how he lost so much weight so far. For him it was a matter of life and death but still is a great lesson to all people who need encouragement.
Just imagine what he would like if he only weight about 150 to 200 pounds! No one who has not seen him in awhile will be able to recognize him.
