If you are attempting to lose weight fast-or at least faster than before-you may be curious as to what makes you hungry. That is, what makes you hungry even if you have just eaten not too long ago.
There are several triggers of hunger that include the following:
Routine-Just like anything else you do, eating is a habit. Therefore, even if you may have by chance eaten a late breakfast for example you might still be hungry at your regular lunchtime. You are just used to eating at certain times and so you do.
Advertisements-This is another great example of routine, but also of the power of suggestion. That Burger King ad, for instance, (and no offense to this popular fast food chain) makes your mouth salivate. It makes you think that is what you need right now.
Tradition-Sometimes we are so accustomed to thinking we have to devour every course of a large meal. This is the reason why some people might order a pie or cake at a restaurant even though they are already stuffed from eating a humongous portion of food.
Aroma-This is a huge one. If you have ever eaten food after telling someone who is preparing it just 15 minutes ago that you are not hungry this is why. The smell of delicious and sometimes fattening foods causes people to think they are hungry.
Alcohol-Often it seems that drinking too much and eating too much go hand in hand. These are often triggers of one another-having to have a beer or cocktail while eating and vice versa.
Coldness-This is one of the reasons people prefer a home-cooked meal, hot chocolate, or hot soup. This in and of itself is not necessarily a bad thing if you have not eaten much all day long. However, it is not necessarily a good thing either.
