Cabbage Soup Diet- How effective is it for weight loss?


Many diets generally claim to lose weight fast but even that means losing around a pound or so a week. This might discourage a person and cause him to quit. Even you are hell bent on losing weight fast the cabbage soup diet can just be the ideal one for you. Before embarking on the cabbage soup diet, it is important to bear in mind that only meant for losing weight in the short term and should be prevented for any long term use.


The cabbage soup diet is mainly low in fat and high in fiber. It enables you to lose weight fast generally in a matter of just seven days at the same time providing a start or a push to the more sustainable moderate eating plan. It has to be religiously followed for seven days with a gap of two weeks in the middle.


Day 1: Eat as many fruits as possible. Make sure they are fresh and juicy. Have the soup and the fruits on the first day. You can go easy on water and unsweetened teas.


Day 2: Consume a lot of fresh vegetables raw, boiled or baked. Try and avoid cooked or fried stuff. Adding leafy vegetables to your soup is of added advantage. You can eat a baked potato with butter as well. However, do not eat any fruits today.


Day 3: Eat the diets of day 1 and 2 along with your soup. However, avoid baked potatoes today.
Day 4: Try and consume a lot of bananas and Skim Milk today along with your soup. By today your desire for sweets should have been lessened. 


Day 5: A healthy intake of around 10 to 20 ounces of beef and nearly 6 fresh tomatoes should do well. Drink a lot of water to remove a number of toxins and acids form the body. Eat soup once at least.


Day 6: Again a combination of leafy vegetables and beef and tomatoes is recommended along with cabbage soup.


Day 7: You can have brown rice, fresh fruit juices and vegetables along with soup at least once. 
The more soup you eat the more are your chances of losing weight. Intake of the soup each day is important along with the prescribed set of foodstuffs. You are likely to find the soup bland and not tasty. However, this is a soup to burn fat containing negligible calories. You can have as much water as you like during the course of the week.
